What exactly will be in version 1.0?

First of all I want to say thank you for creating this program! I have been evaluating software for the last month to do some sort of network analysis, and none even compare with network probe.

I know that there is an offer to purchase version 1.0 for $150. I would like to know what will be included in this new version. I cant seem to find any documentation about included features, enhancements, etc.

I would like to know whats new before I purchase something.

I apologize if there is something already posted that contains this information. In that case would you mind pointing me in the right direction?

Network Probe 1.0 will include

- logging of network statistics on every reset
- ability to inspect logged network statistics (i.e. what happened last Monday)
- display of packet type distribution
- display of packet size distribution
- line chart displaying the total bandwidth the last 30 minutes
- ability to dump packet content of selected traffic to the console
- IP and protocol filtering, limiting the traffic surveyed by the probe

How far after 1.0 will the *nix version be released?

Will there be any built in reporting abilities?

Network Probe 1.0 will log all data to the disk, and you can inspect the logged data just as you look at the live data (you select a time period from the log list).

There will be no report module other than this with the base 1.0 version. Later versions will include separate reporting plugins.

Are there any plans to have Network Probe do and decoding?

Yes. A packet capture and inspection module will be added when our plugin API is in place some time next year.
