copying answers from a previous question to allow subsequent alteration

Hi, this is my first post - so forgive me if I'm asking an old question. I want to set up a questionnaire where the respondent answers a matrix ranking question and then is asked to consider a recent development and then asked that in light of the development would they alter their initial ranking? If they answer yes then I want to have a new (copy) of the question and answer they gave previously and allow then to change the ranking (and thus allow me to compare how the ranking changes). I can't see how this would be done? I've looked at piping, but this doesn't seem to allow me to effectively link the answers so they are represented. If I have them scroll back and forward then the survey is too clumsy and people will give up.

Thanks

Andrew
