Network Probe placement
Posted: Jan 4, 2006 8:58 PM

I have 1 LAN Segment with one Class C IP address range in use (192.168.3.x). LAN Segment consists of 3 cascaded switches - where is best place to plug the Network probe PC into so that I can monitor all hosts traffic to/from the Internet ?

As long as Network Probe is connected to a monitor port on one of the switches, all traffic should be transmitted through this port. Consult your switch's userguide for instructions on how to set up port mirroring.
