EasyChart Servlet & AJAX Post
Posted: Jun 13, 2013 1:08 AM

A client who is using EasyCharts needs to use the servlet to render static HTML/images for graphs to allow easy printing (the applet is giving us a heap space java memory error - and we are moving away from applets).

I have written javascript using Dojo to make an AJAX POST request with a Content-Type of "application/x-www-form-urlencoded" data. This works perfectly for Chrome and IE as the servlet returns the HTML image map that we require.

Unfortunately Firefox automatically changes the Content-Type to "application/x-www-form-urlencoded; charset=UTF-8" (which I've read is the W3C standard) which causes the servlet to respond with a PNG image.

Has any seen this problem before? Would anyone know a way to fix this? Is there a parameter that can be sent to the servlet (query string)?

Thanks in advance!
