Question 2 cannot be loaded and must be deleted.

Hello all,
We have a problem with a number of our surveys that are no longer "live" (that is, locked after the completion of data collection). When opening the survey, we get a string of messages like this, "Question 2 cannot be loaded and must be deleted." Further, there is no data available for completed cases (which is not a problem, as we saved out completed cases once data collection ended).
Is this related to the survey being inactive for a period of time? Have others experienced this problem?
