Reporting functionality

We conduct employee surveys and would like to provide the client with live updates on response rates. We currently create a report for the appropriate questions to display the response count for example, each Division, however, this only displays the response as a percentage of the current return. What we would like to be able to do is to display the percentage response for each element based upon the population in each area. Can this be done with a plug-in or, as we are adding new information (the population in each area), does this need to be an upgrade to the main programme (to add the additional fields)?
To illustrate, instead of the question displaying:
NORTH 10 20%
SOUTH 17 34%
EAST 10 20%
WEST 13 26%
NORTH (POP=30) 10 33%
SOUTH (POP=30) 17 57%
EAST (POP=30) 10 33%
WEST (POP=30) 13 43%
